Swine flu is not the swine flu!

After watching the following video I asked Ed if this “new” swine flu was really and old swine flu?…his answer after the jump.
Swine flu is old – H1N1 is a newer strain that really isn’t “swine flu.” Back in 1976 the Feds didn’t know too much about it and hurried up and pre-approved a vaccine before it was ready. That didn’t go too well. Now we are better prepared. Just so you know again, H1N1 is not 100% swine flu, just a flu that looks like a flu found in swine and other animals. People like CNN and Fox News ran to conclusions and gave it the nickname “swine flu” because it was similar to genes found in North American pigs. H1N1 influenza is the real name and found to be very different than first thought. The H1N1 vaccine is a different vaccine than the swine flu vax. I still call the vaccine Pig Vax because it sounds kewl.
